Now let’s consider patients who choose to leave a practice. In our survey we found that while few WANT to change doctors, there are six top reasons why they do.

Top six reasons patients say they leave a fertility practice:

  1. Wasn’t given enough options (e.g., treatment/approach not tailored for me, want something different/cutting edge technology, answers for why) (23%)
  2. Poor communication (e.g., didn’t feel heard, poor bedside manner) (18%)
  3. Access/insurance/cost issues (14%)
  4. Logistical challenges (e.g., Dr/Clinic or patient moved) (9%)
  5. All business (e.g., treated/felt like a number) (8%)
  6. Lack of efficacy (e.g., treatment wasn’t working, unsuccessful) (8%)

Take a moment now to reconsider your patient review. Do you sense a gap between your review and that of your patients? For many practices, there’s a discrepancy here.
